Which gas for which process

  • TIG welding of all metals and MIG welding of aluminium: argon 5.0.
  • MAG welding of steel: Ar/CO2 82/18 (M21) as the all-rounder, Ar/CO2 92/8 (M20) for thin sheet and pulsed welding, or pure CO2 for deep penetration at a low gas cost.
  • MAG welding of stainless steel: Ar/O2 98/2 (M13).
  • Cutting, gas welding and brazing: technical oxygen; root protection and laser cutting: nitrogen.

Other compositions are quoted on request: custom mixes.

Which cylinder size

5 to 13.4 L cylinders are easy to carry – for hobby welders, mobile repairs and small workshops. 20 to 30 L last longer between fills; 40 and 50 L are the workshop standard; pallets of 12 × 50 L supply production. Argon, the mixes and CO2 have a W21.8 × 1/14″ valve (DIN 477 No. 6) that fits standard welding regulators; oxygen and nitrogen have their own outlets.

New cylinder, exchange or refill

  • New cylinder – you buy the cylinder: no rent, no deposit.
  • Exchange – send us the empty cylinder you bought from us and get a full one back.
  • Refill your own cylinder – we fill it and send it back; it needs a valid test date and a valve for this gas.

Exchange and refill are ordered under Refill & exchange.

Delivery

We ship from our warehouse in Łódź, Poland, to the whole EU. Cylinders up to 5 L travel as parcels, 8 to 13.4 L with UPS as dangerous goods (ADR), 20 L and larger and pallets by truck freight. If the cart cannot price the freight to your address, you order without paying and we e-mail the freight cost within 1 working day – you pay only then.

Business account: volume prices from 4 cylinders and invoices without VAT for EU companies with a valid VAT number. Business customers

Welding gases - learn about the types of gases used in welding

Welding is a crucial industrial process where precision, quality, and reliability are of utmost importance. Choosing the right welding gases is one of the key factors affecting weld quality and overall process efficiency. Our offer includes a wide selection of welding gases that ensure process stability, safety, and exceptional welding quality.

Types of welding gases in cylinders and their applications

Pure Argon (Ar) – The ideal gas for welding aluminum and sensitive metals

Argon is the primary welding gas used for TIG and MIG aluminum welding. If you are wondering which gas to use for aluminum welding, the answer is simple: pure argon guarantees a stable welding arc and precise welds. Due to its chemical properties, argon also facilitates welding of non-ferrous materials such as copper and magnesium.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) – A Cost-eeffective gas for MAG welding

Carbon dioxide is a popular choice for welding unalloyed and low-alloy steels using the MAG method. A CO2 cylinder for a MIG welder is an economical solution, ideal for everyday industrial applications and home workshops.

Gas mixtures Argon-CO2  – the best MIG welding gas mix

A combination of argon and CO2 brings together the benefits of both gases. This mixture allows for deeper weld penetration and better arc stability. It is particularly useful for welding thick material sections and is the most commonly recommended gas for MIG welding machines.
